More Stars and New Fabrics

Finished these Madder print blocks last week but it's hard to find time to photograph and upload!  And now the new color "Indigo" is posted! Love making these 6" stars and I look forward to the finished quilt!  Had planned to alternate the blocks with a print but I am now thinking "many prints"!  That would be Very Busy but that is what I like and the more different fabrics I can use, the better I like it!

This little quilt is my first from Jo's Little Women Club #14.  Love any variation of log cabin so this really fit the bill for me!  And I am always ready to sit down and Sew as I continually replenish my 1" strip collection!  Waited for Jo's new line "Hollyhocks" to arrive to choose the border.  Isn't this tan/black floral leaves just Gorgeous!  Don't use much black in my quilts very often, but when it is combined with tan, I am smitten!!  These blocks are 4-1/4".  I did change my quilt a bit from Jo's pattern.....I did not use black sashing and gold cornerstones as she did.

New fabrics this week include complete collection of "Edith" by Mary Koval (1840-1870).  Am pretty sure I have seen the large floral at the bottom of this photo in the Real Antique, certainly looks familiar!  And Serpentines always are welcomed by Repro Quilt Lovers and Makers!  The plaids are sometimes a challenge to use but in her free quilt project, the purple one looks great used as a border.  You may view on the Windham Fabrics website.  Since the plaid is printed diagonally, it would make a great binding without the need to cut bias strips!

The accompanying prints are predominantly pink, brown and purple.

Am glad to see light backgrounds included as I think the indistinct prints are interesting to use instead of plain fabrics. IMHO, that is!

And here are the 20 bolts of Hollyhocks from Jo Morton!  Ten in the black colorway and 10 in the red......not too many, and not too few!!

Back in a few days with my Indigo stars and a Report from a planned visit tomorrow to the NEQM to see the Prussian Blue exhibit with Wendy!   And the weather looks like no storms in sight for a week! We'll see!
