Pam Buda taught/lectured at Maine Quilts this year and she visited my shop too! She designs patterns and also fabrics for Marcus Brothers. You can see the photos of my shop on her blog, heartspunquilts.blogspot.com, the August 8 post. Check out the rest of her blog too!! She is a very busy lady!!!
From seeing my shop on Pam's blog, Chris from MA came today looking for a backing for this beautiful quilt top she had made! She could not remember the book she got the pattern but I found that it is "Kindred Spirits" by Jill Shaulis and Vicki Olsen of Yellow Creek Quilt Designs. Her work is fantastic and we all know that for me "The Scrappier, The Better"
Now for some quilt photos I took at Maine Quilts.....2016
First up is my friend, Wendy Reed, with her "Burning Leaves" Potholder Quilt #I don't remember! I believe she was the only quilter to receive 3 ribbons.......
The quiltmaker's name follows each quilt.....
This quilt is made "Potholder style"!!
This Hexagon quilt is also made "Potholder style"!
In case you can't read the card above, the maker is Marlee Carter.
What a beautiful collection of quilts you have shared with us today! Makes me proud to say that I was born in Rumford...

ReplyDeleteJudging at the Maine show is done on a point system.....quilts do not compete against each other. And they are pretty strict.....to my knowledge, this is the first year all 3 were certified judges.....

ReplyDeleteHi Cyndi,
Fun to see my quilt in your blog show highlights. Your potholder quilt is such a special reproduction, you're quite the expert quilter to do all those little blocks!

Hi, would you by chance have any French General Le Petit E'Cole fabric from about 3 years ago? It was either Gray or muted brown with the Alphabet on it. It was on Kathleen Tracy's Small Quilts Group on Aug. 3rd. Anyway, I saw photo's of your shop on Pam Buda's Heartspun Quilts Group and thought if anyone, anywhere might have a piece of this fabric, just might be you.... If you do find some and would like to sell, please reach me at Tomnbon@tampabay.rr.com
ReplyDeleteI will keep my fingers crossed in the meantime....thanks so much, Bonnie
So sorry to say I don't have any of the Alphabet fabric. I Love French General and usually keep over 100 bolts in stock! Cyndi
