This little quilt was inspired by a quilt in "Childhood Treasures" by Merikay Waldvogal. Do you recognize the border print? It is from an 1840's line that Harriet Hargraves did for P&B that I loved (all other fabrics in the quilt are from that line also!) and wish the fabric companies would print more like it. The border print was a reproduction of an actual 1815 fabric of which I am fortunate to own a yard or so in a brown colorway. It was printed in several colorways. Overdyed (probably Rit tan dye.........can't remember for sure!) this quilt to mellow the lights....resulted in a quilt that is crinkly and olde-looking.
Found this little quilt buried and forgotten! It is from one of Kim Diehl's books but is also in the Patchwork Place book, "101 Small Quilts". Reminds me that I love making quilts with homespun plaids/stripes!! Have another one started (fullsize quilt).....maybe I should look for that tomorrow!!
And lastly is this oldie but goodie......Remember "Liberty Homestead" from years ago? Not sure she is still producing patterns. More homespun plaids and tan Flannel with embroidery. Blocks are 3" and note that crooked lines don't bother me!!
Now for the newest fabric arrivals! This is "History Repeated" by Julie Hendrickson for Windham...........love browns and blues together. Already have some 6" Nine Patches in progress..........as much as I love the 3" ones, I would like a quilt finished sooner sometimes!!
Half Yard cuts neatly packed into my little wooden display crates!!
And this is the Newest from Jo Morton......"Savannah"!! Also with a brown/blue colorway in addition to a red/brown/gold colorway! That focal print on the top of the stack is just gorgeous!!
This line arrived just in time to be included in this month's Jo's Club 12 pattern.....darling little 2" Four Patches! Back with photos of it as soon as I can!!
